PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ‘ATTENDED’ EVENTS FROM NOW UNTIL THE END OF JUNE 2020 ARE EITHER CANCELLED OR POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION WITH COVID-19

A notice from the British Equestrian Federation….

The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) has urged riders not to “add to the burden” of the emergency services and stay out of the saddle amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The update today (27 March) goes further than earlier advice by the BEF on Tuesday (24 March) which advised riders to avoid “all organised equine activity”. The federation has also advised to avoid hacking out.

The BEF statement said the government had not issued any restrictions on riding – but the federation urged everyone to “carefully consider the risks and what is ‘essential’ – and not ride”.

“The emergency and health services are working at full capacity to combat the virus and as a community we shouldn’t add to that burden,” said the statement.

“If you choose to ride, we strongly suggest avoiding activity with heightened risk and keeping to your own property.”

VACCINATIONS
With regards to the ‘Equine Flu’ problem the Committee has agreed that ALL horses and ponies attending ODRC Shows and Clinics/Rallies need to have up to date 12 month flu vaccinations. If your horse has had to re-start his jabs then he will need to have received the first 2 in order to attend. RANDOM SPOT CHECKS will now take place at all our shows. You will be required to produce your horse’s passport, which will be checked against the horse. Failure to produce the passport or a finding of outdated vaccinations will result in you being asked to leave. We apologise for any inconvenience.

CLINIC & COMPETITION ENTRIES
Please note that FULL payment will be required at the time of booking for all clinics/rallies. Without full payment your space will not be secured.

LATE ENTRIES
It has been noted that there is a considerable increase in the number of  people making late entries for shows/classes that have a cut off date. All entries made after the cut off date will only be accepted if space permits and a late entry surcharge of £5 will be added to the original entry fee. Please accept that there is a cut off date/time for a reason – this is to enable us to administer the event properly and ensure we can run it at all – late entries make this very difficult for us and we all volunteer to help run your Club so please respect this.

Please pop a reference of your name, your horses name and which classes you are doing when paying.

Entries can be made via email – offasdykeridingclub@gmail.com or direct onto the Facebook Event Page. Its very simple, just upload your photo and state which class you are doing, your name and your horses name.

Venue: The Speech House field (2.30-6pm)

Dressage a variety of classes starting from our own Tiny Tots/Juniors test up to Novice. Open to everyone. Juniors & Seniors will split if enough entries
£10 members & £12 non members
Crickland Qualifiers. Rosettes to 6th & medals to winners
Clear round SJ open from 3pm – £3.50 per round includes a rosette

Venue: The Speech House field (start 10am)

Show Jumping Show – open to everyone. Classes start with our Tiny Tots Class we also have Cricklands Qualifier too and we have a separate clear round ring.
Clear Round SJ starts 10am – £3 per round includes a rosette
Class 1- Tiny Tots crosspoles & small uprights max 40cm (for riders that have never won a SJ class or nervous horse & riders)
Class 2 – 40-50cm
Class 3 – 50-60cm
Class 4 – 70cm
Class 5 – 80cm
Class 6 – 90cm
Members £8 Non Members £11 ( + £1.50 first aid)
Rosettes to 6th place, medals to winners.

Venue: Soudley Village Hall (11am – 2.30pm)

So we have decided to do something different (Chairman had a light bulb moment).

So come along get out in the sun get those Farmers tans topped up and socialise with us crazy lot hehe .

Open to all our Members, Sponsors, judges & instructors. An evening of food and awards. Awards for our highest points members Junior & Senior and our Summer League Winners too. Also have a few other awards up for grabs too & also a raffle.
